Great Worship This Past Sunday!

Grace and Peace!

We had a great worship experience this past Sunday @ RSBC, Jamaica, NY. I preached from Nehemiah 2:1-5, and used as my topic "Building The City!" Although our Minister of Music was out on sick leave, our music ministry was on point. After the Word went forth, I made an appeal to the body of Christ @ RSBC of who was ready to help the Lord and myself "Build the City," and many of our people had come forth to join the Lord and myself in this effort of what God is getting ready to do in the life of RSBC, Jamaica, NY.

Continue to pray for us @ RSBC as we go higher in God. We are on our journey, "Rising In Spiritual Excellence!"

I am in Good Health!

Grace and peace!

I had a Doctor's appointment today in which the results were very good. All test results and body levels were good. I was indeed happy about my results.

I suggest to everyone to go see your physician! Too many people in the body of Christ are getting sick simply because we do not take the time to get examined by our physician. If we are going to be about God's business, then we should be in good physical health in order to carry out our assignments as He gives them to us.

Men of God, Women of God, Children of God, please see your physician at least twice a year!

National Baptist Convnetion, USA Inc.

Grace and preace!

Hope everyone enjoyed their summer.

I was recently in attendance at the 129th Annual Session of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. which met this year in Memphis, TN. In attendance with me was my wife, and five other members from RSBC of Jamaica, NY. All of the delegates in attendance at the convention this year were spiritually challenged by our outgoing President, Dr. William J. Shaw of Philadelphia, PA. The delegates at the convention this year spoke very loud at the election of our new President, Dr. Julius R. Scruggs of Huntsville, AL, who won the election receiving 4,086 votes out of 5,032 votes.

The preaching was par-excellent as always, and God just showed Himself mighty throughout the whole week. I can truly say that I am the better for what God has done during my time at the convention this year.

I am looking forward to what God is going to do through our new leader Dr. Scruggs when we get to Kansas City, MO in September 2010.

Please continue to pray for the NBCUSA Inc.!

Psalm 23

Grace and Peace!

I started a preaching series this past Sunday on Psalm 23. The feedback from the worshippers from RSBC was encouraging! Some said they never heard Psalm 23 preached and taught the way God had given it. Many said they were waitng for the next insallment! I have not heard the tape yet. My wife, who just happens to be my Associate Minister, records me every Sunday and usually lets me hear the recording. For some unknown reason she has not let me hear the recording.

Anyway, please pray for me as I continue this series on Psalm 23!

Revival @ Rising Star Baptist Church, Jamaica, NY (aka RSBC)

Grace, mercy and peace!

My brothers and sisters, I write today with the joy of Jesus. Please note that from here on as I write when I speak about the church I serve as Shepherd, the Rising Star Baptist Church, I will be refering the name as RSBC.

We are closing our Revival tonight @ RSBC. We are finished with the first night and oh what a time we had last night. Our revivalist, or as some may say evangelist, Pastor Victor J. Lewis of the Friendship Baptist Church, Roslyn, NY spoke from the topic, Insistent Faith from Mark 10:46-52. What a Word he gave to us last night! We are in anticipation for what God is going to do through the Man of God on tonight as we close out our revival.

I write today to say to all of us us that we must cry out insistently to God about our situation and let Him know what is wrong so that He can make it right! God cannot make anything right for us unless we ask Him and tell Him what is wrong.

I was truly blessed. I look forward to tonight and hearing what God is going to say through Pastor Lewis.

If you are reading this blog, please pray for the spiritual success of this revival!

The Challenge of Preaching the BIBLE!

As a Pastor in Downstate New York, I have noticed many unusual challenges that face the Body of Christ. It has become very disturbing to me that those of us who are the Shepherds of Congregations do not deal with sin as we should. I would like to pose a question for those of you who are possibly reading this blog and would like your honest answer.

Are those of us whom God has Chosen, Anointed, and Appointed to lead congregations to stuck in ourselves that we have forgotten what we are to preach or have we become to afraid to preach against sin because we may lose our pulpits?

I want to hear from everybody who will respond!

Abundant Blessings,

Pastor Norman W. Scott

Introduction

Well, first I want to say that God is good.

I am writing to express myself feelings on social, political, financial and spiritual issues as they may arise. I will also be sharing as a result of things I experience in my life as a Husband, Father and Pastor.

Please keep me in prayer.
